Qualifications

You may wonder how all of those letters after my name impact you as a client, so let me explain.
The first three of the set - BA(Hons), MSc, ACMA - should just provide you with reassurance that I can run a viable business. They represent the training and experience I gathered in business and finance prior to retraining as a hypnotherapist. You can rest assured that with this experience and training I am no fly-by-night set-up that will leave you stranded at a time when you need me most.
The next three of the set - DipCAH, HPD and MNCH(Lic) - are the ones that are important from the point of view of you feeling confident that you have chosen a safe, professional and well trained hypnotherapist. As such, they are worthy of a more detailed explanation.
DipCAH - I trained with the esteemed David Collingwood-Bell of the Delwyn Hypnotherapy Group and obtained a Diploma in Clinical and Advanced Hypnotherapy from the renowned UK Academy of Therapeutic Arts and Sciences. The principals of this training academy, Shaun Brookhouse and Fiona Biddle, are leading lights in the world of hypnotherapy and are committed to ensuring that the profession advances for the benefit of all.
HPD - I was awarded the Hypnotherapy Practitioner Diploma by the National Council for Hypnotherapy and the national awarding body NCFE. This is the first externally verified hypnotherapy qualification and its learning outcomes are in line with the National Occupational Standards for Hypnotherapy.
MNCH(Lic) - I am a member of the National Council for Hypnotherapy (NCH) and am committed to abiding by its codes of conduct and ethics. The NCH currently represents over 1000 practitioners and 500 trainees within the UK and is committed to ensuring the highest possible professional standards amongst their members.
In addition to the above, I have also carried out the following professional development courses:
NCFE Certificate in Personal Life Coaching - I did my training with the fantastic Newcastle College of Flexible Learning.
The Certified HypnoBirthing Fertility Therapist Program - I was honoured to be part of the training course held in Belfast in April 2008 run by the founder of this qualification, Lynsi Eastburn. Lynsi travelled all the way from Denver, Colorado to deliver the course and how grateful we all were to her for sharing her knowledge and experience with us. Lynsi is the author of It's Conceivable: Hypnosis for Fertility.
HypnoBirthing Practitioner Certification - I trained with the experienced Jenny Mullan in Northampton and do regular CPD including re-training in HypnoBirthing to ensure that my skills & knowledge remain up to date.
Fertility Through Hypnosis, Foundation Training for "The Fertile Body Method" - I was both inspired and informed by the training of Sjanie Hugo of the Calmer Centre, resident hypnotherapist at the Zita West Clinic and author of The Fertile Body Method.
I am a registered member of the UKCHO, an umbrella body for the hypnotherapy profession in the UK. It's mission is to ensure that standards of conduct, ethics and practice are appropriate for public safety. My registered number is 82667.
